Who would've thought...

My parents turned on our A/C for the first time this summer

There IS a god after all!

Wholly satisfying (& unproductive) past 24 hours

Around 2am while in the middle of watching War of the Worlds on TNT last night freaked out of my mind because I flipped to it in the middle of the movie & had to see the ending or else I'd be super paranoid, I got a call from Mark who told me he was around the area. So he stopped by & we hung out/caught up for about an hour & it was really nice.
This morning I bummed around, made a video for Brendon's birthday on his fb wall, ate some more breakfast, vacuumed, ate lunch, & then watched the USA lose to Ghana. Eh, I'm disappointed but I'm not heartbroken, they didn't play like they wanted it in the first half & overall I wasn't impressed w/ how they defended & moved the ball. After, I wikipedia'd some stuff, bummed around some more, went to dinner, where we ran into some family friends. Their daughter who's entering the 6th grade in the fall is already taller than me & she slouches hahaha. We stopped by Blockbuster, picked up The Proposal, & I went to Nat's grad party. Within five minutes of being there, I met three douche/bros who recently graduated from GVSU (and, as I found out later, crashed her grad party since one of the guys is her neighbor) & we played about 43829540832 games of ladder toss. In true douche/bro fashion, we upgraded to the oh so classy game of BP in the guy's garage while he put his iPod on shuffle, which had lots of Taylor Swift on it hahah. Then some of their friends came over & I found out that they know two girls I went to middle school which was completely random. Finally, after playing five games I walked back over to Nat's house, talked to her & her parents, then headed home. My parents just started the movie so I watched it w/ them & now I'm here typing this.

...I have my philosophy final Monday & another A&P lab quiz Tuesday. I've only started studying for my A&P quiz hahaha. As what always seems to happen, tomorrow/today is going to be another work day. Jo wins!

No complaints though, it was worth it.

Yum

1) I love Mexican food
2) Mexicantown is the best
3) Out of all the restaurants, Evie's Tamales has become my favorite, hands down.

Therefore, Evie's Tamales >> everything else
Dinner Combo: Rice, beans, tamale, enchilada, & burrito + orange jarritos for roughly $7. oh yes.

Strange people

This is an open letter to the elderly man on the bike in Rochester Hills who rode within two feet of my car as I was getting in who smiled then waved to me in one of the most awkward ways possible after Zach dropped me off & to the guy who called me "beautiful" & kept trying to hit on me while sitting at a traffic light:

Thanks for making my life more interesting. All the same, you both are McCreepsters.

This past week

1) Watched the Cote D'Ivoire vs. Portugal game in the lab again on Tuesday..Ronaldo's a bitch. As my friend put it, "he deserves at least 74 of those acting awards."
2) Talked to Soph for the first time in a while!
3) I talked to Myles who moved to the Philippines
4) 104% on my philosophy exam. which means, i'm done studying for this class since 65% of my grade is an A+, holla
5) Housing plans are finally coming together (Hi Brendon!) & I'm 99.999% sure this is going to be my new place!
6) Spranger kicked some one out of class hahah
7) WTF WAS THAT MALIAN REF ON? Seriously, nullifying a USA goal when it was fairly won & hit. However, by doing so the least he could've done was to give American a PK after Slovenia fouled two other USA players in the box. There's absolutely no doubt that the US deserves three points out of this match, the ref wouldn't even say what foul was committed that gave him reason to overturn the goal! What a shaft, it's even worse that he was making questionable calls the entire game against both teams. Epic fail on extreme proportions.
UPDATE: I'll add one more thing: FIFA needs to review the process they use in which to select referees that officiate their games. If they care about the integrity of the World Cup, something needs to change. I'm not saying that replays should be put into place because that'll become a mess, but the two refs in the USA & Germany match proved the lack of judgement on FIFA's part. I'm interested to see what the official
8) Played some ultimate & soccer w/ Ethan, Tyler, Ryan, & Matt. good stuff (: until I got sick from drinking too much water haha, oops.
9) I'm planning on pigging out on ice cream as soon as I get home. oh yes.
10) Come visit me in the UGL! I'll just being doing A&P till 7ish...unless some one wants to go to the Fillmore w/ me (:
11) Michael's grad party tomorrow!
12) Seeing Vanya on Sunday!
ADDED:
13) Went to Dave & Chuck the Freak's Friday Bitches Ball w/ Major...which involved fence jumping six times, a free tshirt, & free food. all around, good stuff (:
14) Aaaand I also got a shirt from Major who got it for me in NYC. Yay!
15) Saw a guy imitating a girl by holding his fanny pack like it was a purse & shaking his hips as he walked lol
16) K so you know the post a few days down where I was basically being annoyed to death by my mom's singing? SHE'S AT IT AGAIN. W/ AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL. I can't figure out which is worse.

Typical

My first conscious thought was that some one was calling me, looking at my phone, I see it's Zach & wondering why he's calling, I pick up.
Which is when I find out it's 9am & I have an exam at 9:35am. Cue slight freak out.

Thankfully, he picked me up from my house & we booked to Detroit, & thanks to some pretty sweet driving & no major traffic, I got to my exam early (:
Win.
Another win: apparently I'm the only person in my class to get the meaning of this correct(yes, it was typed up on Word & then screen shotted to ask my philosophy friends what it meant, which actually didn't help at all)
If you're curious, it means: A is necessary in H if & only if A is true in all worlds Hi possible relative to H

On the walk over, this guy who works in the Rehab Hospital (according to his uniform) stopped me & told me I had beautiful legs & then asked me how many boyfriends I have. I told him five & he said well I'd believe it!
(NOTE: I have typical butch soccer legs. My legs are not pretty by any means at all hahah)
Right after this, I take the crosswalk across John R where you're supposed to yield for pedestrians. This asshole sees me crossing the street & instead of slowing down or keeping a constant speed, he speeds up & came less than a foot from running me over. I gave him the "wtf" look, to which he just waved at me. Bastard.

the last noteworthy part of my day: watching the Italy vs. Paraguay match in Woster's lab w/ at least three people at one time, the most being nine hahah

In other news, I've decided that I update this thing way too much

No more Jackson Five. Please. My ears are bleeding.

My mom's been singing the chorus to The Jackson Five's "I'll be There" for the past three hours.

I'm about to go insane.

Current beats

Pandora -> Create a New Station... -> Jim Croce
I wish we had more music like this produced today, good stuff.

Philosophy exam Monday, I might be in trouble for this

Just saying...

okay I'm editing this & putting in a disclaimer: I most likely sound like a bitch by typing this up, but I won't take this down because yesterday(6/11) just reinforced this for me.

It's hugely disrespectful to join a fb group for some one who has passed when you don't even know the person or while they were alive, meant nothing to you.
I don't mean the last part to be harsh, but let's be real. At least for me, I know that there are a lot of people who wouldn't do shit if I needed help or a favor at this very moment in time because they can't stand me or I'm just some random chick. I'm not necessarily saying that everyone or anyone would turn around & act like my BFF if/when I die, but I've seen the trends w/ others & it's disgusting.

If you've never even met this deceased person, laughed w/ him or her, or even waved to him or her (sorry, grammar nazi) on the street, there is absolutely no reason to join a group dedicated to his or her memory & then post ridiculous things along the lines of "OMG...i never knew him but he always seemed like a cool guy. RIP" or "we never talked but i always saw him in the hallways RIP"
No. This is bullshit, if you really care, message the family or contact them in some other way to offer your support. Don't post shit up on a wall like this just because you want attention drawn to you that you joined the fucking group & now you "know" some one who has passed. It's absolutely repulsive to see how many more "friends" some one gains after they die. Want evidence? Compare the number of friends some one has on their personal page vs. the number of members in a group created for their memory

the past few days

Well, in terms of my summer blogging it's been a while, but not much else to say.
My birthday was good! Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes (:
Check it:
-my parents took me out to dinner for my birthday
-my mom bought me a slice of a cake & a cannoli from the pastry section of Papa Joe's
-Zach bought me lunch for my birthday
-Vanya bought me a fruit tart & strawberry cheesecake...for my birthday
-Nick baked me a pie...also for my birthday
-my Dad is the only person who gave me something other than food. hahahah are you guys trying to say something??

So I've been sick for the past two days...I've been more sick within the past eightish months than I have been in years, combined. wtf is up w/ that?

Other than that, I think they FINALLY opened up the moat around deRoy! or it flooded hardcore, but I doubt that since it hasn't rained in a while & it was never flooded when it was raining before. However, they did pull a slight fail when they failed to clean up all the rotting leaves, cigarette butts & everything else that's been chilling there since the beginning of time
...and that's most def the best side of the moat. It has potential to be pretty, but it just looks like a mess as of now.

Something funny I thought to leave all of you with (name spelled mnemonically according to one of our post docs from China & number completely wrong). Found this afternoon on the wall of my lab! Btw, this isn't meant to be malicious or anything, I just enjoyed it.
NOTE: edited out the numbers of everyone else, can't have you kids stalking them! (:

Oh yeah, today I rediscovered the fun of paper bag lunch puppets...Zach just gave me a weird look. Though in all fairness to me, there was a hole where the "mouth" would be so I had lots of fun sticking my pinky through it so every time my puppet opened its mouth there would be a tongue sticking out. I thought it was fun. well okay, clearly.

Updated: This is why I love my brother hahah what a jerk

Cleaning my room, laundry, reading, & playing the piano is on the agenda for today.

that's it. I just wanted to point out how chill today's going to be (:

Fun Friday

lyke omgawd itz totalli maii l@st fr!day as a tEeNaGeR!!!!! SQUEAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(thought you might appreciate that)

Today was pretty action packed, so the events of my day (I've learned that I like to make lists)

1) I skipped class bc of SURF, which was a little dry but most def worth it
2) Did some more apartment shopping & Zach came along bc he had nothing to do in the lab. One was by the pharmacy school (edited since I remembered this is the internet), I'm pretty impressed by it & so far, this is my top choice. Of course, I just spent an hour & a half looking at places online so I'm far from deciding on the top places I want to be...hopefully Hilary likes it too
3) Looked at a few apartments on Woodward & Watson. I like those ones too, however the area isn't the best even though it's clearly a very safe place to be once you're inside the gates. Unfortunately, I don't think my parents will appreciate the suburban-shock heart attack, so they're out (if you're looking for a place it's $895/mo + water, high speed internet, & one gated parking spot. $25/mo for an extra car & there's gated guest parking I can give you the number)
4) Spent some quality time w/ my favorite person ever (:
5) Went over to Rich's place, hung out, & walked to Olympic Grill where I realized exactly why I don't drink milk anymore (I got a delicious milkshake but it gave me the worst stomach ache ever)
6) Rich & I had a mini midtown walk where we found $23 by an alley on Cass, I checked out a few more places I wanted to see, took him by the place I really really wanted but lost out on, walked by the Magic Stick (where there was some stupid emo shitty band playing...you could tell by the kids standing outside), got hassled by Detroiters (two cars crossing woodward & some guy who called me Rich's honey & said that he had exquisite taste hahaha...apparently I looked like I was going to the lame ass show & they thought they would try to get a reaction, too bad I don't get comments like that when I've walked around in the same outfit before)
SIDE STORY: so we walk up to this one kid who's by the door to the Magic Stick & we ask him what concert it is. Says it's some metal band, he then tells us we should buy a ticket bc it's only $15 & we say it's not worth the money. Looking at us we get this: "yeah I'm just in it for the beats. There's a cop car right there & I just popped some E (shows us the pill on his tongue) so it's going to be a good show." oookay mr. look at me i'm such a badass, you're in Detroit. hello. you don't get cool points for rolling & holding an unlit cigarette in your hand
7) Walked back to Avalon, went inside Spiral Collective, met Rich's friend Rita, & hung out for a little. Then she drove us back to Rich's place in the back of her pickup; so illegal, so good.
8) Got my stuff, hung out a little more, met Zach when he got out of class, talked a bit about apartments w/ him, & we drove back to Rochester Hills (where we had the most excellent CD singalong/jam session/dance party...though it was mostly me laughing & him doing.) <- that's what she said? (:

whatup GPA

Hopefully this post won't jinx me...but I'm feeling the need to gloat about my grades, & I think here's the best place to do it, because not many of you read this (though 34 different IP numbers have been logged! I'm surprised at how high that number is actually)

In philosophy, I got a 100% on my first "quiz" (which is worth 25% of my grade, so I consider it an exam)
In A&P lab, I got a 100% & then 98% on my first two quizzes
In A&P lecture, I got the fourth highest score in the class (out of 206). 98th percentile holla.
This summer sem is surprisingly going well for not putting that much effort into school.

In other news:
-Spranger potentially hooked me up w/ a study group, how sweet is that?
-I haven't worn pants in over three weeks. oh yes.
-I've decided to do nothing productive tonight & though this has already happened, I can be guilt free bc I've already decided on it.
-apt shopping is getting tedious but hopefully I'll be able to find another place I love so I can move in by the end of July!
-this weather is perfect for sports

hhahaha you jerkface & a half

whoever signed me up on a dating site-hilarious. but really?? you (guys) are such pranksters. but I'll run w/ it & pull the awkward card, as usual. (however, password may be necessary even though i can see everything that you're doing via notifications that you linked to my email)

or I'll delete it, haven't decided yet; granted, I would need the password for that. But I'm going to try to figure which one of you did it, so hopefully I'm able to (:
Another day at the lab spent studying! good for my exam & quiz today. I'm thinking nap after lunch especially since I only got three hours of sleep, whoo.

later on...is now! just updating. Exam wasn't so hard, just a few tricky questions. I think I pulled off a B before the curve, but we'll see! Quiz was a bit trickier bc i didn't study the models very much, which is what it was pretty much based on, but whatever.
So today Zach & I matched on accident hahahaha. This is even better for everyone who hung out w/ me daily at the end of the school year where I said we matched all the time (when we actually didn't). But today was a beautiful twist of fate. Picture(s) to prove:
okay okay I know you can't really see, but here are two more (separate) pictures bc I'm terrible at self aim pictures
oh yes. this is SUCH a win! (:
& yet, (I'll admit it here) a slight fail, I think it's awkward when couples match a lot (so here's not wishing it doesn't happen anytime soon!)

Anyways, I like how this exists on Wayne's campus
though not obvious, I'm talking about the water that's shooting out of the ground. Pretty cool/fun/random huh?
