Lessons learned from today (as in Friday...I'm writing this late)

1. Bring a bike pump, water, & a fully charged phone when going to Critical Mass
2. Take a big group to Funk Night; there is a direct correlation of epicness (though tonight at the Russell Industrial Center was suhweeet)
3. Keep extra water & gatorade/powerade/etc for the aftermath of Funk
4. As long as the Majestic isn't the Funk venue, arrive after midnight.
5. The Traffic Jam has a piano which they let people play on it
6. I'm going to kill myself w/ the lack of sleep that I've been getting.
7. #6 has been totally worth it
8. Don't party w/ your housemates late at night when you have to get up early the next morning for professionally related committments
9. I need to keep better track of who I invite to what because I was terrible in that department today (sorry Rich & Lenard)
10. I've eaten at Lafayette for dinner two days in a row & am still alive! Though I'm sure my digestive system is crying.

Random story of the day

Last night after taking a shower I decided to look for a bag that I thought I brought from home & left in the living room so I walk out & look for it. I don't find it but for some reason, I look up & all I see is Brendon sitting in our dining room w/ the lights off, dressed in dark clothes, & staring at me w/ only his face lit up by his cell phone. While we look at each other, we ran passionately into each others' arms.
No jk, but the first thing said was "you're not wearing any pants." hahah

& now I'm going to play drinking games w/ the neighbors.

PS- Lenard's birthday celebration on Sunday night was pretty fun- good food, meeting new people, free Astoria compliments of DK, & hanging out at Campus Martius followed by a nice run w/ Caleb then studying & a good talk w/ DK.

Cherry ice cream

Thursday
Tigers game w/ SURF & some of the PharmSci faculty/grad students, & they won! Though it wasn't completely impressive considering the number of errors, they got it done so that was pretty sweet. We decided that we should pay $5 to anyone who will be willing to jump into the pool that they have in Comerica Park and/or hotwire one of the cars they have displayed above & drive those into the pool. On the way back Allie & I apparently got whistled at by Mexican douches (you know the kind) which was pretty funny.
Driving back to main campus after the game was the first time I've ever experienced a traffic jam in Detroit. Thankfully I know my way around Detroit so I was only stuck for a few minutes.
Class, blah. However, I stayed awake & was paying attention the entire time! Which means less work for me in about five minutes when I relisten to lecture, yay.
Ethan helped me put up stars in my room (whoa the Big Bang!...that isn't meant sexually btw), got Lafayette, walked on the River walk for a few- where we saw a Detroit coroner van & a few police cars at Hart Plaza, kinda weird- & then went to Greektown for Coldstone. Sweet cream, peanut butter, & fudge = sex.
Slept over at Rich's for the night

Friday
Left my phone on Rich's bathroom sink, fail.
Cedar Point w/ Dr. Commissaris, his son Phil, Mike, Tyler, Ryan, & Matt. It was a good time & I actually used sunscreen for once which was an excellent decision because now I'm slightly tan but w/o it I would've been burnt fo sho. Mike, Tyler, & I went on the Millennium Force, Raptor, Mantis, Mean Streak, Magnum, bumper cars, water rides about 3482904832 times (hahaha), & some others before the torrential flood came around 9pm in Sandusky.
Best part of the day: When Phil, Tyler, & I were poking fun at Mike's diaper rash/swamp ass walk by imitating it because some guy who thought we didn't know him saw & we overheard him pointing out to his girlfriend that we were "making fun of that kid who's walking funny"
We also saw a woman w/ a third nipple by her armpit

Saturday (today, durr)
CPR training at 9am in Waterford, I'm now certified for AED & adult/infant CPR!
One of our family friends from Canada is visiting & it's been a few years since I've seen her, pretty cool
However, I'm exhausted from running around all day to all these places & lack of sleep. Which means either nap time, or relisten to lecture.
Nap.

Oh, & I finally changed my profile picture since pretty much everyone was telling me via my wall, message, chat, or comments on my fb, over the phone, & in person that they all hated it. Enjoy the break from weird pictures
UPDATE: I love the Michigan Interlibrary Loan system: five new CDs to listen to for free that would have otherwise been unavailable to me. Hooray!

Two thumbs up

Today was one of the best days I've had in a while- full of easygoing, hilarious, & fun moments. I'm really happy w/ all the memories I've made in the past 10 hours. To name a few:
1) Coming up w/ the name Laqueefa
2) Sticky mat fight in my apartment w/ Zach
3) Scaring the shit out of Wensley through a fb video & him pushing me off my chair in Purdy Kresge because of it
4) Two big scoops of ice creams at Freshens for $2.64 (thanks Jordan!)
5) Everything considered (AKA not studying at all), a pretty easy A&P exam
6) Getting out of lab way early
7) Ridiculous jokes & conversations continued at the Olympic Grill

This past weekend

1) Apparently I got checked out by 30something year olds outside Sala Thai, food was delicious as always, Mike was ridiculous as always
2) Wensley picked me & Tyler up then went to Fairlane where I found some amazing deals. Necklace, shoes, two pairs of shorts, a shirt, & a dress for $56.11
3) Ethan, Tyler & I had some excellent Saganaki & gyros at Golden Fleece in Greek town, where we met up w/ Mike & his friend Andrew. (PS-Ethan's place is suhweet)
4) From there, the five of us went to Windsor (the city!) & overall I had a pretty good time. It was a nice switch up from the boringness of my life. We randomly ran into Norbert (Sir Norbs Christopher of the Dirty Skee.) & some of his friends in a bar, good stuff.
5) After we finished bar/club hopping, I convinced Chris (Sir Norbs Christopher of the Dirty Skee.) & his friend to go to McDonalds w/ me so I could get a sundae, which included lots of yelling, & some carrying across the street.
6) Then we went to Little Caesars where I met up w/ my group but ended up chilling w/ Chris' (Sir Norbs Christopher of the Dirty Skee.) for a while in which some random guy was trying to get me to leave w/ him through the window...twice. hahah, he walked away, came back, then his friend punched him, & they both left
7) Chris (Sir Norbs Christopher of the Dirty Skee.) walked me back to Travelodge (thanks again!), where I found Andrew & Tyler passed out in the chair (& where he slept the entire night) & one of the beds respectively. I made Ethan & Mike walk across the street to Windsor's riverfront where we stayed for about an hour & according to them, "drunk philosophized"
8) Talked for a few hours w/ Ethan before we decided that it might be a good idea to sleep
9) Hangover free as usual (:
10) Not a very eventful trip back to Detroit; Tyler & Ethan stopped by my apt for a while & they met Rachel
11) When I got home, I told myself I wouldn't take a nap so I could wake up early on Sunday & be productive. So I'm relistening to lecture & end up falling asleep at the desk. My dad comes in & wakes me up for dinner, I try to get up but both my legs have fallen asleep & couldn't hold my weight at all so I ended up faceplanting into our carpet. Where I fell back asleep for about two more hours hahah
12) SUSHI. Mm, so good!
13) Finally moved a bed down to my apartment! So other than clothes, I'm pretty much moved in! Though there are some stuff that we gotta finish cleaning & repair before it's actually livable. Next phase of the apartment: cleaning the living room, bathroom, window sills, fixing the toilet so it actually flushes, painting, & buying plexiglass/the necessary equipment so I can plug in 3 pronged appliances into the wall in my room.
14) I'm screwed for this A&P exam. Not enough studying by far. Oh well, I'll still try

Why I've had a good weekend

1) I saw Vanya today!
2) I ate a ton of fruit w/ Vanya today
3) We came up w/ a sweet new dance move (compliments to one of the Spanish soccer team members) that we did w/ her African drum
4) Vanya let me borrow their acoustic guitar. New instrument? Yes. I already have a song goal that I want to learn by the end of summer (:
5) Lots of piano playing & laughing
6) Tons of reading, I forgot how good it feels to get lost in a story.
7) I wanted the Netherlands to win, but not to the point where I was heartbroken over it, they didn't have much of an offense & their defense clearly lagged at some points in the game. Oh well.
8) Bought a pretty nice dress on sale
9) Got my room in my apartment cleaned so I can start moving stuff in
10) Rereading my human physio notes seems infinitely more productive than relistening to A&P lecture & it saves so much time

Recent news

1) I finally have a place for the fall! We signed the lease this past Thursday & I'm so excited to move in.
2) Saw the Karate Kid w/ Tony, Zach, & Mik Friday night. I didn't like how the movie left a lot of loose ends, maybe they're setting up for a sequel, I don't know. I thought it would've been sweet to have seen a showdown between Jackie Chan & the other kung foo teacher. Is it hugely nerdy of me that while we saw Will Smith's kid working out that I only thought of how Spranger said that if you exercise & lift a lot when you're 11-13, it'll stunt your growth?
3) Cat's grad party was Saturday! Where a nine year old thought my bra was the place where I was hiding their ping pong ball & proceeded to maul my boobs hahaha. FAIL.
4) My mom rented Borat from the public library...we're about to watch it. I'm pretty interested to see how it goes.
UPDATE: we got 22 min & 24 seconds into the movie before my mom got sick of it hahah

I'm the coolest kid you'll ever meet

One of the bigger fails of my life:
I was sitting in the front of the lecture hall in deRoy & there were six of my friends & their bags between me & the aisle. Halfway through lecture, I have to go to the bathroom but I was debating if I actually should because I didn't want to get up & move across all of them. In the end I decide to and after some awkward shuffling I get out to the aisle etc. As I'm coming back, I notice the aisle behind me only has one guy in it so I thought "do I really want to climb back over everyone or just climb over the chair?". I took climbing over the chair & I'm on top of my seat, swinging my foot over but it catches on the top. Apparently I said, "oh god" (I don't remember this) & then fell w/ my feet sticking up & my back on the part of the seat where my butt would be. So apparently all my friends saw & started laughing, Spranger heard/saw, stopped lecture, & was looking for me as I was still upside down while asking my friends why they were laughing.
