Grind with Me - Pretty Ricky
Now I'm not hating on this guy's music because I haven't had the chance, but who names their kid Phillip Phillips?

On Love, In Sadness - Jason Mraz
Oh Detroit Lions, you will be the death of me. I really should have learned by this season's performance to hope for the best & expect the worst instead of thinking that we'll win.

One More Try - George Michael
I've had this song stuck in my head for days now.
Anyways, how busy it's been lately! First endocrine exam, a lovely weekend spent in Grand Rapids, & the Great American Smoke Out all within the last week. It's a little strange but w/ all the organizing, emailing, & general work I've been doing for the GASO, working, & getting everything in order for my upcoming trip to Haiti (less than a month!!), I've found that I really feel the best about myself when I'm studying. Maybe because I know I'm not doing nearly enough. Dopaminergic reward pathway going real hard. If only I didn't dig myself in a hole, hopefully I can claw my way out of 19 hours behind lecture between today & tomorrow.
So I'm thankful for is getting a long weekend to prepare for impending doom - jk. Tryptophan, sleeping, & good times to be had w/ the books, can't wait!
In case I don't get a chance to post what I'm really thankful for on the actual day here's a short man version. I'm thankful for another year w/ my wonderful dad, a supportive family who loves in their own way, & lastly the joy & experiences each day brings. Have a safe & happy Thanksgiving!

Madness - Muse
Only one of the two Muse songs I like. Really catchy. Anyways, if you're voting, especially in Michigan, please make informed decisions about our proposals. Information can be found here:

I'd stay away from the analysis because they seem to be biased (but what really isn't in journalism nowadays?)
Edit: When multiple politicians have left Congress & state on camera they did so out of frustration to the ineffectiveness of the Senate/House or because their parties were only concerned w/ putting down the other team, things have gone too far. It's laughable that people blame actions or stipulate that the other opponent will do this & they'll do this to counteract it when nothing changes. What are the major political issues that seem to constantly dominate the headlines? Budget, naturally, defense, okay, and....gay marriage? Planned Parenthood? There aren't bigger things to be spending time & resources on than what 'marriage' or 'civil union' is & isolating people? The system is deadlocked by people who are more interested in their paychecks & holding pissing matches than actually caring out our country. We have people in office who simply shouldn't be. It's alarming how fast the country is going down the shitter. We need people who are willing to work w/ everyone, to compromise, put aside differences, & get things done that's good for future generations. We need mature people who don't necessarily agree w/ each other, but can for the most part respect each other. How else is anything going to really, truly, change? It's absolutely ridiculous that we have a 'movement' where people are so willing to buy into the hatred & prejudices they feel. What's worse is knowing that people buy into this crap, they'll vote blindly because of all these stirred up feelings. Hiding behind a ballot of racism and intolerance. This isn't just at a national level but at a local level. Troy's mayor, the Sterling Heights councilman. Apalling. Please, everyone, please make the effort to make informed decisions. I don't care if you vote Democratic, Republican, independent, whatever. If you don't vote, that's not a problem w/ me. Just no whimsical checkmarks at the polls. Please. This might be too optimistic but maybe w/ one elected official at a time we as the general public can start to trust politicians again.

On another level, I just saw an ad on TV set in Beijing about how America fell because they owned our debt & demonized the Chinese. Really, people? Yeah let's just blame our fiscal irresponsibility on the foreigners instead holding our citizens, the people who are supposed to serve our country & hold our best interests in mind, & big corporations accountable. Pathetic.
Can't wait for all the polarizing ads to disappear in a few days. Tactics by every single organization or political group is all about smearing & inducing anger to manipulate people to try to achieve what they want, it's despicable.
End of soap box rant.
