I've been (somewhat) studying this entire weekend, though it's been pretty hard to concentrate. Honestly, looking at this material I'm not too worried about the exam, hopefully I don't faceplant bc of overconfidence. Nevertheless, Zach & I went to the driving range today, fun as usual. I've most def gotten better since last year despite some one poking fun & staring at me constantly (:

Another random run in
Walking across Anthony Wayne today, this guy walking the other way talked to me:

& then we both kept walking our opposite ways
Apparently he saw me carrying Jordan's old ukulele to Zach this past week hahaha
orrrr he was completely blown away by my rendition of Mary Had a Little Lamb! which I totally figured out by myself. i'm so talented!...?

I love moments like these
The random things that happen in my life are some of the sweetest memories I'll have. Today I was a complete klutz, I ran into boxes, doors, tripped on chairs & even my own feet hahah. But here's one of two stories:
I'm studying outside while waiting for Zach to get out of class & I look up & see this guy who's at least in his late 40s & it looks like he's a grounds keeper for wayne or something like that. So I smile at him & I notice that he's walking towards me. When he gets near, he holds out a flower & tells me, "Here, I got this for you to put in your hair. Be careful, there are three thorns though." Completely surprised, I thank him & he says "you're welcome" & walks away, wishing me a good day. So that made me smile (:
So, that was my present for the day, set in front of my oh so awesome A&P lab notes!
Other story: I'm driving home & at a light I make a right & usually I don't look at the other drivers on the road but for some reason I did...& stared right at one of the kids I went to hs w/ who was staring at me hahah

Today was pretty event filled: Race for the Cure, Mexicantown fail, surprising Tony, & running
I swear Mexicantown is in my Bermuda Triangle, I have a good idea of where everything is is in Detroit & how to get there other than this place. Most of you should know about this, I've either gotten everybody or have taken them through the ghetto when I'm driving hahah.
Today was no exception, but I think it was my hugest fail...after driving about an hour trying to find the damn place we just gave up & went to Cass Cafe (which was as excellent as usual).
Then I came home, hung out w/ Vanya for a little before she left & got ready to study/do hw for the rest of the day. Instead, I got a call to drive over, pop in, & surprise Tony. so I did (: After, I watched Dogma w/ them & left
I'm now sitting in my elementary school parking lot studying on my laptop (this really sounds weird but my reasons are because I'm going home soon, it's just down the street from my house, the public library's closed, & I don't want to spend money buying something at a Panera or coffeehouse), where I've found that I can access their WiFi. I win!

I. Am. Exhausted.
This morning, I left at 8:15am & got home at 8:15pm. I now understand why people would need caffeine to get through their days.
Overall though, great day: got out of class early, free Pizza Papalis (I hope I spelled that right), met some more cool kids who are in SURF too, finally starting the biofilm experiment! (it's involved a lot of calls to the manufacturers), & i've seen more of Zach in the past 36 hours than I have since moving home. More than enough reason to call it a good one, regardless of the weather.

Oh summer
how I'm going to miss all the free time I had!
...that's talking w/ a week of classes & spending an average of eight hours on campus already. Starting tomorrow: 9:30-7:30 mon-thurs & 9-5 on fri. let's do this.
I did, however, have an amazing weekend! Saw some wayne kids yesterday at Rich & Jordan's, met a few of their other friends who are hilarious, & had a chill time. Today, I played capture the flag in waterford w/ wayne kids, Mike, Vanya, & a bunch of Pete's friends who are sweet. I hope I didn't lie in poison ivy, I have rashes on my thighs & shins but luckily they aren't itchy. A good sign? I think so! Then afterwards my car (Mike, Vayna, & Zach) went to Coldstone. mmm. So overall, a fun day filled w/ good times & good company.
Then I ran after dinner & killed myself. so now I'm sleepy (:
PS-about the mp3 player I found, I'm actually pretty disappointed in my music tastes back then, 95% of it is shit. But at least I have 4GB more of songs to listen to!

I win!
Last night in our recliner I found my mp3 player that I thought I lost two years ago.
& a two year old pack of gum, which was just opened at the time bc only one piece was gone. Well, I guess in a way I fail for losing these things & wasting a new pack of gum, but I'm happy I found it! I can't wait to listen to the music on this mp3 player (:
oh, & I also found a dradel. hahaha YES.
in other news, I visited my elementary school & my high school today; it was really nice to talk to some of my teachers & whatnot. afterwards, i was really hungry & because it's gorgeous out i walked from the library to the Arby's on Rochester Rd. which was a farther than i thought it would be, oops. there, I decided to buy 3 beef n cheddars, one for lunch tomorrow & two for today except when i was there i decided to get curly fries but after i realized that tomorrow's saturday. AKA i don't need to get a lunch for myself bc i won't be on campus & bc i got curly fries, i didn't need two sandwiches bc that would fill me up so now i just have two beef n cheddars chilling right next to me. faiiiiiil. yeah, the library studying isn't going so well right now, it's way too beautiful outside! i just keep staring at the window hahah

Back to school
I have survived one full week of the spr/sum 10 semester! Next week starts the broootal: 9:30-7:30ish all day, everyday. ohhhh yeah. okay fine, except for monday, which is 9-5. can i finally be considered an adult now? i'm almost 20 too, so i think it counts extra (:
i'm really liking my philosophy class- the ideas presented & the people are extremely interesting, so i think it'll be a great semester full of debates, i love that my class isn't scared to say what's on their mind.
A&P seems like it'll be doable. As of now, it's mostly review so i'm happy. i don't like that we don't actually dissect something in lab, i wish we would.
i had a meeting at the med school today in the lab we're collaborating w/ for this experiment & i think it's going to be really cool. i'm excited for it to start! so the strain of S. pyogenes that we're going to be using is an active culture (duh) but i had no idea that it can kill a human within three days of an infection & growth of a biofilm. so crazy. living life on the edge! not (:

today
okay i lied, this post isn't going to have pictures in it. i think i've learned that i need to stop promising things on this because i usually don't end up doing it
so i guess i break promises to myself per se?
whatever. so the highlight of my day was the evening, where i got Chipotle w/ Mike (YUM), saw Iron Man 2 w/ Zach, Tony, & Tony's brother Pete (their haircuts look good), & i got gas.
As in i pumped gas, okay okay i got gas at a gas station, no bodily functions involved! but the reason why i'm including gas in this blog is bc of the following story:
i was hit on by a bro. hahahhaha. to give you an idea of what i looked like today: jeans, grey & white white beater, hair down, & no make up (as usual). this guy holds the door open for me, i thank him, walk inside, & stand in line. As a joke, he says "hey that doesn't mean you could cut in front of me". i replied, "ahh sorry, go ahead, i actually have to check what pump i'm at." so i walk out & come back & he signals me to go in front of him. so i do, say thanks again & he replies w/ "you know the only reason why i let you do that is because you're beautiful right?" & i was like "uhhh, thanks...?" & then he asked me if i was korean. when i said no, he said he has lots of korean friends so i said cool & walked out.
alright, as Zach says i suck at telling stories. but what i see so funny about this: he was clearly a bro, i wasn't dressed up, & i got hit on in the classiest place possible. i don't understand the world.
& yeah, Iron Man 2 was pretty cool, unfortunately i haven't seen the first one but no big
last thing-i saw a bunch of rhs kids today that i would've never expected, pretty cool.
edit: i like how i forgot to mention that all my grades are in! human physio ruined my perfect 4.0 sem....w/ a C+. hahahaha FAIL. but i will be making the dean's list soo that means number something on my summer list can be crossed off (:

I think I'm going to try to do my next blog completely through pictures, because I think that'd be sweet! That's kinda what this one will be like, but clearly I'm writing so it's not.
1) Woke up, ate, & failed at peeling a banana. I did feel like a hulk when the top inch or two of the banana came off w/ the stem thing (that's not what she said...ouch) but I didn't think about taking a picture until after I ate the top portion
2) My nose was runny, & then I realized it was blood. Cue another picture
3) Progress on my room! Though it won't look like it, I disassembled a clothes rack, moved one of my dressers into my closet, did more laundry, & started putting away my CDs since I don't touch them anymore...hence the huge layer of dust on the top of every CD case, gross.
4) Went running & realized how much harder it is here. I think it's because of air quality difference, a definite terrain difference (the only real gradient I feel in Detroit is if I run up/down the Lodge bridge vs. hills galore, duhh), & a lack of a running buddy. I lack discipline w/o some one running next to me. In Detroit, I can do two miles easily. Here, I can do about a mile & a half, failll.
5) Played on a real piano. It feels so good to finally play on fully weighted keys & on a piano that doesn't shake every time I want to play at forte. Okay, really nerdy, I'm admitting it!

apparently I update my blog when I have nothing interesting going on...you all are probably going to know a lot about my summer. creeps. (:

Summer!
my summer started off in probably the best way possible. Right after getting out of my last final Soph & i took the bus downtown & walked on the River Walk (& off, trying to get to a lighthouse) for a while. A few of my favorite shots (more on fb):
then we got dinner at Lafayette, walked around Campus Martius (soo pretty at night), & then decided at the bus stop to make a detour to Astoria, where we ran into John Morgan & friends. We also met Andre who had the coolest red shoes. but he told me that the bruises on my leg from ultimate were "unladylike" & that i should "put vaseline or some type of special cream on it to cover it up". hahahha, yes, i got told off by a homeless man.
after that, we walked back to where we thought the bus stop would be, got lost for a little, found some really cool walkways & stuff on some sidestreets (i didn't take any pictures & it's hard to explain). when we found our way back to woodward, it was by Comerica Park so we just walked back to wayne. where we watched V for Vendetta (one of my favorite movies of all time)
since then,the quality of my summer has exponentially decreased. in example: meetings at the pharmacy school, moving out & cleaning the majority of our room, & moving back home. Since moving home, I have been dealing w/ this beast:
after cleaning nonstop since 11am, my room now looks like this:
(cleaning includes two loads of laundry, vacuuming & washing my car, sorting through old clothes, packing up high school stuff, putting away a ton of christmas lights & all that, & cleaning my fridge & microwave).
i have about another day of cleaning ahead of me. i want to cry.

Hellllllooooo summmer! how i have missed you.
okay, well technically my summer hasn't started yet (I have a final at 4:30pm) but since i only need a 49% on it to get an A in the class, I'm not worried about it.
after my final, Soph & I are hopefully going to hit up downtown! i'm super stoked (:
this weather is gorgeous & I can't wait to enjoy it.
check out that reflection, guess who's going to be in that weather in about two hours! (okay, i realize i look like a tard esepcially for wearing sunglasses indoors, be nice)
tomorrow i'm working out the details of my internship & looking at another apartment.
