Lessons learned from my Halloween experience in Greektown: if all the other bars are crowded, it means you should stay away from the one that isn't crowded. Persistent creeps & trashy folk will be abound. Great running into so many familiar faces & making new friends! I'm also so thankful we weren't the only ones dressed up as something other than a Tigers fan (hah, joke).
We played our last club soccer game this afternoon at OU! So many memories driving around its campus w/ my parents, even practicing how to park when I got my permit back in the day. Though we lost, 3-1, there are a few things of note to say about the game & our season: 1) the refs took a day off 2) we played together really well 3) both teams had great sportsmanship 4) we played ridiculously well for only having one practice a week 4) I have never enjoyed myself in an official organized soccer team as this one, it was great playing w/ competitive people who wanted to win but would never be rude or get down on each other. Great experience & I hope to be around next fall!
Also, yours truly finally scored a goal. Ironically, I wasn't playing forward when it happened because I was messing up so much. Yeah!...?
Second soccer game of the day coming up at 9:40pm. Thankfully it's indoors; it should be a great time even if we lose, I've missed the midtown team! Not to mention co-ed soccer and the pace of indoor games.
On a completely different thought, it feels great to return something & see that money appear in your bank statement again. Yay!
Also, the Lions won! Even though I only caught the 4th quarter, they looked a lot better, especially Stafford.
Another thing that I forgot to mention. The Faberge exhibit at the DIA is gorgeous & absolutely worth the $15 admission, I recommend it. Though it didn't into as much history behind Carl Faberge & the House of Faberge as I would have liked (which, there's always Wikipedia for), the detail of the objects are stunning. Really well put together.
